Colleen has been working at Healthy Weighs Wellness Center since 2014 as an Associate Nutritionist. She is married to her wonderful husband, Jim, and they are proud parents to their two sons, Cameron and Spencer.
Colleen’s Nutrition Philosophy. “After reviewing your initial paperwork and performing some non-invasive nutrition testing at your first visit, I’ll use the data to determine a general meal prescription for you. We may also discuss using all-natural, whole food-based supplements to complement your dietary intake. For medical nutrition therapy purposes, I often refer to the Institute of Functional Medicine therapeutic diets to help manage certain conditions. I tend to use Choose My Plate guidelines when working with children to guide them in general balance and needed nutrients. I will not tell you to remove whole food groups from your diet. I am very interested in mindful and intuitive eating practices, rather than unnecessary restrictions.”

Susana Burns, CH
Consulting Hypnotist, Guided Imagery Master, and NLP Practitioner
For Susana Padilla-Burns, Consulting Hypnotist, time and quality of life has always been of importance. Her professional career began in Hotel Management and Innkeeping along the Pacific Coast. Paying attention to the details of the moment and creating “stages for life to take place” was a part of every day. In the interaction with guests and staff, she came to realize that most people want true relaxation and to enjoy life in health. As she moved along the coast and in life, she discovered new passions and ways to bring relaxation to people who couldn’t always get away for those long trips.
After nearly ten years in Hospitality, she studied Interior Design at IDI in Newport Beach, CA where she was quickly taken on as an intern for RG+A, a design firm that specialized in spas. While there she noticed there was still something missing in the mindbody connection.
It was during that time that she decided to go back to school to learn more about healing and wellness – Hypnotherapy was the decision. Previously, while in design school, she learned about dimensions in space, but what really appealed to her were the dimensions within the mindspace, establishing the mindbody connection and creating true spaces of wellness from the inside out. Within a year, she was an Honors Graduate, a Therapeutic Guided Imagery Master and was asked to mentor students at the Hypnosis Motivation Institute.
Some of the specialties she is certified in include Guided Imagery Master, Hypnosis for Tinnitus, Hypnosis for Weight Loss, Release Technique, Hypnosis and the Law of Attraction, Hypnotherapy for Clients with Cancer, Hypnosis and ADD/ADHD, Hypnosis for Immune Disorders, Hypnosis and Childbirth, Hypnosis for Loss, Hypnosis and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Hypnosis and Pain Management, Past Life Regression, Neurolinguistic Programming, Therapeutic Imagery Facilitator, Therapeutic Imagery – Mythic & Archetypal Advanced Therapeutic Imagery, Therapeutic Imagery for Life Passages, Therapeutic Imagery – Metaphysical Therapeutic Imagery Master, Handwriting Analysis, as well as a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy with Honors.
During her 1,000-hour training and clinical residency, she opened three locations for Hypnosis Haven in Southern California. She has now moved to Brookfield, CT where she is happily seeing clients at Healthy Weighs Wellness Center where she can use her training to help clients manage their challenges and improve life, change behaviors and achieve goals for self-improvement. It is her goal to bring balance and wellness to all for a well-designed life.
Her graduating title is that of Certified Hypnotherapist, but the state of Connecticut requires all hypnotists to be licensed and use the term Consulting Hypnotist which is attained through a membership of the National Guild of Hypnotists, of which Susana is a member of in good standing.
Steve Troiano, NASM-CPT, CES
Certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist & Health Coach
Steve is a Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, (NASM-CPT, CES) and a Health Coach.
He spent 30+ years at a desk job. In 2015, he decided to come to Healthy Weighs Wellness Center for nutritional counseling, after seeing Dr. Julie give a talk at his company. By this time, he had become overweight and was suffering from all the maladies of a prolonged sedentary lifestyle.
Beyond weight loss, he took advantage of many of the different services available at Healthy Weighs Wellness Center including: acupuncture, massage therapy, Reiki, and yoga.
Experiencing the benefits that physical exercise added to his health and well-being and how they complimented the other treatments, he became a personal trainer. He is especially interested in working with people who, like he, prefer getting their exercise from doing things that are fun!
Steve is available for personal training by appointment only. Please call (203) 775-1819.
Certified Yoga Instructor
Celeste brings a lifelong practice of healthy living, nutrition, and strength training to her students. She owes this to her father, a pioneer chiropractor. Celeste started to practice yoga to blend her healthy living with a dedication to mindful exercise. She retired early from being an airline pilot. She feels yoga saved her life and wants to share the gifts yoga brought to her healing life.
Her teaching encourages a strong body, mind, and open heart. She guides her students to a place of self-acceptance, to move through life with more confidence, ease and feeling better.

Dawn Eriquez, RMT
Reiki Master Teacher
“My name is Dawn Eriquez, I am a Certified Reiki Master Teacher/practitioner and have been practicing in Connecticut for over two years. I grew up in Danbury on 48 acres of woodland that my grandfather lovingly shared with my family. It is here that my love of nature was nurtured, and my healing journey began. I had a skin condition for years. By the time I was 8 years-old I had basically lost all hope of ever feeling comfortable in my skin. I became very discouraged after many failed attempts to heal with the recommended medicines. That all changed the day my grandfather told me I could wish it away. He said that if I wanted to heal bad enough I could do it myself. I wished as hard as one could and shortly after my skin was healed and clear. What once seemed impossible became possible.
My journey continued over the years but became my passion after I was hospitalized with diverticulitis. I was told I needed surgery however, after watching my father go through the exact same surgery and 6 months of complications to follow, I knew that was not an option for me. I needed time to work on healing naturally but was strongly advised not to wait. To create time, I rescheduled my surgery twice. With much focus, energy, determination, will and faith I was healed and avoided surgery.
Ecstatic with my knowledge of what IS possible, I became a Certified Reiki Master Teacher. I was driven by the need to help others heal the way my grandfather helped me. Over the years I have also learned and practiced EFT which stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques also known as Tapping, Zen meditation, as well as healing with crystals and essential oils. I even overcame severe anxiety attacks with the use of mantras. We are capable of so much. We just need to put our ENERGY in the right place.
This year I became a certified Level-1 Qigong Instructor with Supreme Science Qigong Center. Qigong, pronounced chee-gong, originated in China and Tibet and has many proven benefits. Qigong is an extremely effective exercise that combines breathing, postures, special movements and meditation to increase the flow of energy or Qi. Its ability to increase blood circulation is matched by few others. I am so excited to share with you this amazing practice.
I strive daily to live in Harmony with all that God created, and I look forward to helping you achieve balance, inner peace and wellbeing!”
MEMBER OF INTERNATIONAL CENTER FOR REIKI TRAINING
Ordained Minister with Universal Life Church Ministries
Certified Ingham Method Reflexologist Meridian Therapist
“Reflexology works by relieving stress and pain throughout the body by focusing on the hands and feet and there are no needles involved. There are pressure points in these areas that correspond to other parts of the body that are not normally reached with a normal massage. This is a great way for the practitioner to access a specific area that is giving you trouble without touching the area.
In 2007, I became a certified Ingham Method Reflexologist with the State of Connecticut. Early on in my training, I had great success. I had a friend whose husband had suffered severe spinal injury in an auto accident. I was sure Reflexology would help him physically and emotionally, so I convinced him to be a case study for me. It did work! His wife was so impressed with the results of my treatment that she went to school and later opened her own health center where we worked together for 10 years. Her husband? He has never had to return to the medication he was previously dependent on!
In 2016, I learned from Lilian Tibshraeny-Morten from South Africa, the author of Moving the Energy: Reflexology and Meridian Therapy. I invite you to experience reflexology and make an appointment to see me at Healthy Weighs Wellness Center.”
William (Billy) Conner
“I am the Healthy Weighs office manager, and I am also Dr. Conner’s oldest son. My siblings (Kristi and Brian) and I have worked at Healthy Weighs Wellness Center for our entire lives. I was born after my mom had already established her nutrition practice, so I was raised in the world of healthy eating and nutrition counseling my entire life. I have worked at Healthy Weighs Wellness Center since I was old enough to stock shelves and copy papers. In high school, I was in charge of the food drives and Christmas gift drives, as well as to help Dr. Conner’s assistants with anything they needed done. I graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in International Agriculture and Rural Development. I’ve always wanted to go to Cornell because both of my parents and my grandfather went there. As a requirement for my degree, I worked at Cavite State University in Indang, Philippines doing research on diversified farming and helping banana farmers improve their farming techniques.
During that time in the Philippines, I realized that there were so many street children living on their own with no food and no education. I enjoyed making such a difference in their lives. After spending months in the Philippines, I was inspired to get an M.Ed in Elementary Education. My goal was to teach young children how to read and write. My desire to work in a research lab and pursue advanced education in agricultural research did not hold the same meaning to me anymore. I really enjoy working here with our treatment team and all of our wonderful patients. Our staff helps so many people make positive changes in their lives.
Trust me…it does not matter how poor your motivation is for improving your eating habits; she will turn that around and have you eating your fruits and veggies. Chris, Brian, Kristi and I are here to help you succeed in achieving your nutrition and health goals every step of the way. Cheers to good health!”
Christine (Chris) Falkl
Assistant Office Manager
“I am the Healthy Weighs Wellness Center Office Assistant. I retired from IBM after working there for over 30 years as a secretary/administrator. I was a patient of Dr. Julie Conner’s for over two years. I had lost a lot of weight due to a medical condition plus personal stress. I never went to a nutritionist before, so I didn’t have any idea how to find one. My insurance company gave me a list of potential nutritionists. As I went through the process of searching each candidate to see who would best fit my needs, I came across Dr. Conner’s website. I knew then that I didn’t need to look any further. As I read the details of her practice, I could tell that she was the right person for me. My first visit with Dr. Julie confirmed my belief. Dr. Julie is a very warm and compassionate person. She treated me as if I was part of her family…very concerned with my well being. I am truly grateful for the time she spent with me in turning my health around. I now have the honor to work at Healthy Weighs Wellness Center.”
